Experience
My goal is to make learning as fun and engaging as possible. I believe that one of the most effective ways to teach someone is to find a way to connect the coursework to their own interests. Not only does this help keep students motivated, it also makes it easier for them to understand challenging concepts. My experience as a teacher started when I was an undergraduate student at Central Washington University, where I tutored my peers and worked as a teacher's assistant. During this time, I helped a number of people learn more about science and prepare for upcoming exams and projects. As a teacher, I strive to do more than help students memorize learning material. I also want to share my own skills and experiences with them so that I can inspire them to gain the same appreciation for chemistry and biology that I have. When working with students, I like to get to know my pupils so that I have an idea of their interests, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. With this information, I am then able to come up with custom-tailored lessons that have been designed specifically for them. Outside of education, my hobbies include playing sports, cooking, and gardening.
